Marlena Hebenstreit grew up in a family of artists in the urban art community of Cincinnati, OH. Her early art education came from studying artists whom her parents admired such as Rubens, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Tiepolo, Turner, Goya, Fragonard, etc. For years she tagged along with her renowned portrait painting mother to classes; painting, drawing and sculpture, absorbing the art and ultimately creating an appreciation for the methods used by the old masters.
Today, her early exposure to those great artists shows in her work. Marlena paints with a skill and insight that can only come from years of studying them. She has many of her paintings in private collections across the US including the Museum of Spiritual Art in Franklin, OH.
