I am observant of the subtle and minute qualities of my world and I want to tell a story.
I delve into the elusive painting process and abstracted images emerge. I am compelled to paint what is important to me. Family, home, and nature inspire my work. No matter the subject matter or the original source of inspiration, the strokes are expressive and the colors are rich. The acrylic paint on canvas is thick and textured with many of the colors mixed directly on the canvas. My obsessive observation and characteristic mark-making seems natural and compulsive to my way of working.
