Georges Braque (France, 1882-1963) "Le Petit Billard " - Between 1944 and 1952, Braque created a series of seven works of art on the subject of a billiard table. This 1945 image was issued in the form of a color lithograph in 1950. The piece is framed and matted under glass, and signed "G Braque" in the lower left. In the wooden frame, it measures 19" x 18.5," the sight image measures 9" x 11.5." Notations adhered on the verso provide information and indicate the Provenance is from the estate of Marcelle Lecomte Drakert, an employee of the U.S. Embassy in Paris during the 1930s and a member of the French resistance against Nazi Germany during WWII who later became an American citizen.
