(After) Roy Lichtenstein (1923 – 1997) “The Red Horseman” – Poster for a 1976 exhibit at the Modern Art Pavilion of the Seattle Art Museum. Included is the complimentary pencil signature of the American Pop Artist. (A pencil signature on a print that was not supposed to be signed is called a complimentary signature.) The condition of the 23 x 28-inch offset lithograph includes a light tideline in lower sheet edge, mostly visible in left and right edges, creases in upper left and lower right corners, a quarter inch tear in lower left sheet edge, other handling creases and minor defects. The original 1974 painting contains bright and cool color combinations and Lichtenstein’s customary dots used in the cubist style to create this image depicting several men in full war combat gear riding speeding horses.
