Thomas McKnight (b. 1941, American) “Capri” (1987) is a limited-edition color serigraph/screen-print on paper. It is hand-signed in pencil by the artist and numbered LXXII/CL (72/150). Measurements are 18 x 16 inches, full margins, and with matting, frame and glass, the work of art is 26.5 x 24.5 inches. There are some imperfections on the edges of the frame (see photos); otherwise in good condition. The image is from the artist’s Southern Italy Suite and the original 1986 painting was made in casein (a liquid painting medium using milk that is fast -drying, durable, permanent and was used in prehistoric times in cave painting. McKnight is known for creating beautiful images of local and exotic places using lush, subtle color to create idyllic, serene scenes, often as a view from elegant rooms or archways.
