(After) Edgar DEGAS (1837-1917) "Seated Men and Dancer" is from a series of 32 images by Degas (circa 1880-1883) that illustrate the compilation of short stories written by Ludovic Halévy, "La Famille Cardinal" about Pauline and Virginie Cardinale, their parents, and backstage life at the Paris Opera. The images were not published with the illustrations until 1939. This work of art is based on a monotype by Degas that was later engraved on copper by Maurice Potin (1938.) The image measures 8" x 6.5" and with frame and matting, the piece is 26" x 22." Shipping is free in the USA.
