Gustave Baumann (1881 - 1971, German/American.) Known for woodcuts, Baumann was commissioned by author, James Whitcomb Riley, to create a series of prints for his book, "All the Year Round," published in Indianapolis by Bobbs-Merrill in 1912. This piece of art, referred to as "The Businessman" or the man in dark suit talking to a shopkeeper, is the image for the month of March in the book. Dimensions: Unframed: 8 3/4 in. x 7 in. Framed: 20 1/4 in. x 20 1/4 in. Beautiful work of art by a 20th Century Master, spectacularly framed, and ships free in the US. Gustave Baumann was an American printmaker and painter, and one of the leading figures of the color woodcut revival in America.
