Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) - "Female Head with Supporting Arms" (1962) from the Linogravures suite. Printed in the First Edition of "Pablo Picasso Linoleum Cuts Bacchanals, Women, Bulls & Bullfighters," published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc. in 1962. Produced late in Picasso’s career, this abstract image is rendered in black lines on a blue tone field. Picasso worked in the medium of linocuts extensively from 1958 to 1961. These linocuts were first issued in signed editions of 50 by Galerie Louise Leiris. In 1962, in a collaboration with Picasso and Galerie Louise Leiris, the original linocuts were loaned for the creation of lithographs. This piece is hand signed; Picasso is believed to have signed some of these prints as favors to friends. It measure 12.5" x 10.25" unframed and ships free in the USA.
