Enrico Baj, was an Italian painter, sculptor, art theorist, (and anarchist?) He worked primarily in collage, prints, and sculptures. He is considered to be part of the surrealist, Dada and Cobra movements. Also a writer, he was associated the avante-garde movement. Originally influenced by Matisse, he was also known to borrow heavily from artists such as da Vinci and Picasso. Enrico Baj left Italy during World War 2 in order to avoid conscription.
