Anatole Krasnyansky (b 1930, Ukraine) – “City Serenade” (2016) is hand-signed by the artist and numbered 339/450. Krasnyansky approaches art with two different techniques: cityscapes (inspired by his art history and restoration background), and bright, surreal figures resembling animated, colorful harlequins. This image features a serenading violinist with a framed view of the city beyond. The 30 x 20 inch image is elaborately framed and matted measuring 42” x 32.” This is a digital multiple on aluminum through dye sublimation which is a printing process that transfers imagery into a digital matrix using dye-based inks that are then cooked (heated) onto a lightweight aluminum plate. Striking for its color and vividness, this art form is an alternative to traditional mediums for multiples.
