Piet Mondrian (1872 – 1944, Dutch) "Victory Boogie Woogie (No text)" (1986) This is an unsigned, unframed, offset lithograph from an unknown edition size. It was printed for the Netherlands art museum (Gemeentemuseum Den Haag) that has 300 works by the artist. Mondrian’s deceptively simple but major impact using black lines and balanced blocks of primary color was his signature style known as “Neoplasticism.” The sheet dimensions are 28 x 27.5 inches. Shipping is free in the USA. Mondrian's original painting is famous for being the last (and unfinished) work of the artist before his death by pneumonia in February 1944. He created the work in anticipation of victory by the Allied Forces in World War II. It is bright, lively and upbeat reflecting that mood. In 2014, a photograph of U.S. President Barack Obama with "Victory Boogie Woogie" was widely distributed in the Dutch and Flemish (Belgian) news media.
