Graphic laboratory data, 2079 In this movement-filled work by Guillermo Galindo, a representation of futuristic data creates a three-dimensional landscape. The combination of aluminum overlaid with acrylic emphasizes the futuristic conceptual scientific designs that promagulate his work. This series, which Galindo calls his “genome scores” merge textures of plants, animals, and microbes. Galindo’s art is his unique symbolic language to evoke how research and data have historically expressed and sustained systems of power, particularly relating to colonialism.
