Specimen documented in Skaftaros, Iceland 2067 Guillermo Galindo’s “PS 13 (Pretiscarida Carnosa)” is a mysterious work of mutant art. The texture and monochromatic aesthetic that floods through this piece represents Galindo’s futuristic conceptual atmosphere. The artist’s scientific designs, which he calls “genome scores” merge textures of plants, animals, and microbes. Galindo’s art is his unique symbolic language to evoke how research and data have historically expressed and sustained systems of power, particularly relating to colonialism.
