(After) Bernard Buffet (1928-1999, French) “Yellow Roses in a Blue Vase” is a limited-edition color lithograph ‘after’ the original 29 x 24-inch oil on canvas that the artist painted in 1996. Numbered 5/50 in pencil in the lower left and signed Bernard Buffet in the lower right, the image portion of the lithograph measures 5 x 4 inches and with double matting and frame it is 16.5 x 12.5 inches. There are stamps on the verso as pictured. Well known for his floral bouquets, the work of art is an example of Buffet’s immediately recognizable Expressionist representational style. The original painting sold at auction in 2012 for over $75,000.
