Michael Escoffery, “The Sleep #1” (1997) is a pencil and colored pencil drawing on paper by the noted Jamaican American artist. The work of art was created in Escoffery’s New York studio and is signed and titled in the lower right, with the artist’s blind stamp in the lower left. Primarily a painter of women, the Caribbean artist was inspired by the female form to create this tasteful, elegant sleeping nude.
