(After) Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–1988) “Warrior” is a limited edition (68/150) reproduction lithograph (circa 2017) with a printed signature and moniker of Basquiat. The image measures 10.5 x 7 inches; the sheet measures approximately 15 x 11 inches. The original Basquiat work was created using acrylic and oil-stick on wood panel in 1982. The 72 x 48-inch piece sold at Sotheby’s London for over $8 million in June 2012. Described as a ‘masterful work’ and, in some ways, auto biographical, the image of a raw, violent figure appears battle-ready in a gladiator stance set against a wild background of yellow and blue blocks.
