Alexander Khomsky (b. 1954, Russian/American) Calla Lilies Floral Still Life - Original oil and gold leaf painting on canvas. The composition consists of a gray vase of white calla lilies with green leaves featured against a textured gold background sitting on a black and white diamond patterned tablecloth. The work is hand signed by the artist in red in the lower right and the 24 x 20-inch canvas is surrounded by a 29.5 x 25-inch frame without glass. Russian-born artist Khomsky studied at the prestigious Stroganoff Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts in Moscow during the communist era. After developing an interest in modern contemporary art, he was given the opportunity to exhibit his work in Europe. In 1990, he immigrated to the USA to pursue more artistic freedom. His work has been seen in numerous solo and group shows throughout the USA, Canada and Europe.
