🎨 About the Artist
Barbara Gothard is a visual artist who considers herself a “fighting optimist’ channeling global business and educational experiences into the joys of the creative process. From Illinois roots to global residencies, she learned that obstacles are opportunities, translating these into the unfolding mysteries of complex spatial relationships that compel her to paint.

Gothard is a 2011-2012 recipient of The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation Artists Grant, Art and Sustainability. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Palm Springs Art Museum Artists Council and former Chair of Space 4 Art, and received her Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Michigan State University, Master’s degree in Art from Long Island University, and Bachelor’s degree in Art from Mount Mary College.
