Art Spotlight is a new, upscale art gallery located at 67 W. Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach. After months of extensive renovations and planning, co-founders/owners Thays Franca and Teri Althouse are open to the public. Art Spotlight is a unique art gallery/artist co-op hybrid where local artists can display their creativity. “Our mission is to preserve, expand, and showcase art culture in downtown Ormond Beach while elevating art and collaborating with artists and the community. We distilled our mission statement down to three words for the sake of ease: Create, Collaborate, and Elevate!” says Teri Althouse, who formerly displayed her art in the same space when it was Arts on Granada. “Our vision is to become much more than just an art gallery. We plan to be an art-centric venue that hosts events such as comedy shows, poetry jams, live music, food and wine tastings, and so much more. We have big plans in the works!” Thays Franca, artist and co-founder. Gallery director, Jon Benjamin, is committed to helping the gallery discover new artists who are a good fit for the team. “If you are an artist who is looking for an opportunity to expand your horizons, become a member of something larger, and be a part of the local art community while helping yourself and other artists promote creativity, join Art Spotlight.
