John Grillo (1917 – 2014, USA) “Girl with Hat VI” (1979) Limited Edition Color silkscreen serigraph on Arches Paper, hand signed and dated ‘79 in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin, and designated number 20/30 A.P. in the lower left margin (in addition to the regular edition of 200). The image is 28 x 22.5 inches and the sheet measures 33 x 26 inches. Grillo was a painter/sculptor/lithographer and a pioneer of Abstract Expressionism. In his later work, he turned to figural paintings primarily of women, but continued using a palette of pure vibrant colors and deep hues. In 1979 – 1980, he issued a series of several different numbered screen print versions of “Girl with Hat”.
