The artwork pictured is of Twombly’s 39 x 28-inch oil and crayon on paper titled, “Formian Dreams & Actuality” dated Aug. 15, 1983. (These words are scribbled at the top of the abstract painting.) In the upper left corner is the blue stamp of Galerie Mathias Fels PARIS. On the verso is a Galerie Thomas (Munich) advertisement featuring a watercolor and ink Composition created by Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky (1866 – 1944) in 1930. The image consists of interlocking triangle and rectangular shapes in bright colors and shades.
