Shlomo Alter (b. 1936-) Romanian/Israeli; “The Lovers” (aka Flying Couple) is a limited-edition color screen-print, signed and numbered HC 14/50 (hors commerce - outside the trade; not for sale through regular commercial channels.) The sheet is approximately 13 x 10 inches and the piece has been double matted and framed so that the work of art measures 17 x 13 inches. Alter uses soft color, lines, whimsy, optimism and good humor in a naive expressionistic style influenced by such greats as Matisse, Chagall and Dufy.
