The year was 1940, a year that saw both the debut of Walt Disney's Pinocchio in theaters and the birth of artist Toby Bluth, who would grow up loving the classic film. He often wished he had been born a decade earlier so he could have played the role of Pinocchio himself.
However, fate and of course the careful selection by Walt Disney himself, would deliver that dream to young Dickie Jones, who famously gave Pinocchio his voice. This very special Signature Series edition of "Little Wooden Boy" pays tribute to Pinocchio's historic achievement in animation, signed in one corner by the boy who imagined himself in that story, and in the other, the boy who lived the dream himself.
This limited edition giclee print, #15/95, was created on hand-deckled acid-free watercolor paper to faithfully reproduce the original watercolor painting.
