(After) Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954, French) “Interior d’Atelier” (Studio Interior) is a First Edition Color Lithograph on fine wove paper after the original oil on canvas painting. Printed under the direction of Henri Matisse in Paris, France circa 1947. The image measures 8 x 7 inches, and with museum quality mat and framing, the work of art measures 16.5 x 15.5 inches. The original painting (circa 1900 – 1904) is of a corner of the Paris apartment Matisse lived in from 1899 – 1907. The work of art is inscribed "H. Matisse" in the lower right. The still life/interior measures 21 5/8 x 18 1/4 inches and features items on a small stand, including a vase of flowers and a lemon, as well as Matisse’s own sculpture casts at the top of the painting, likely including the one for Bust of a Woman, cast in bronze in 1900. The original painting is in the collection of the Tate Modern in London but is not currently on display.
