Peter Max (b. 1937, German American) “Liberty Head II (Sailboat/Angel with Heart)” – This piece was produced in 2017 and hand signed by Peter Max at his Studio. The work of art consists of an 11.125 x 8.875-inch etching with additional hand coloring and is further embellished with unique remarques that were hand drawn with colored pencils. It is a limited edition (246/495) example of the pre-eminent Pop Artist’s well-known ‘Liberty Head’ images from the 1980’s that was re-created near the end of his career on a copper etching plate. In the upper right corner of the wove paper is a drawing of Max’s iconic ‘Angel with Heart,’ and in the lower left of the sheet is a drawing of one of his ‘Sailboat with Heart’ series. Embossed in the lower left is the ‘Peter Max Copyright’ seal.
