Keith Haring (1958 – 1990, USA) “The Fertility Suite – Untitled #4” - Limited-edition silkscreen reproduction of Haring’s 1983 image; plate signed and hand numbered (21/200) in the lower left margin on heavy weight museum board paper that measures 34.5 x 39.75 inches. The Fertility series of 5 screen prints was created by Haring to simultaneously celebrate fertility and life as well as draw attention to the fears faced by pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS. Neon hues of yellow, pink, green, and orange along with black are used to depict the women apparently in motion while another figure (portrayed with an ankh cross, the Egyptian hieroglyphic for ‘life’) representing HIV/AIDS draws them close.
