Description

After FREDERIC REMINGTON (1861-1909) "The Outlaw" (1906) - Reproduction in bronze of the American artist's famous sculpture, exhibiting great movement and detail. It was cast using the Lost Wax Method and is mounted on a marble base. The name "Frederic Remington" is inscribed on the base and there is an etched brass plate with the title of the piece. It measures 11" x 9" and ships free in the US. Frederic Remington is best known for depicting the cowboys, soldiers and Native Americans of the Old West. His 14th sculpture, "The Outlaw" is a remarkable composition because the horse and rider are balanced in suspended animation on one front leg/hoof which presented a challenge to show in a bronze. The bucking horse's rump is straight up in the air and the cowboy leans back, balancing himself in the saddle as he keeps his seat. Outlaw was known as the real companion to Remington's renowned sculpture, "The Bronco Buster."
