(After) Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988) and Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987); “Eiffel Tower” - This reproduction is a limited edition (10/150) lithograph on Arches paper with the printed name and moniker of Basquiat in the margin. The unframed sheet measures approximately 11 x 15 inches. The work of art is based on the original 80 x 108-inch acrylic and silkscreen on canvas that the two artists executed in 1985 while on a trip to Paris. The image is a combination of a static screen print by Warhol of two black Eiffel Towers against a dark background plus acrylic paint added by Basquiat in dynamic shapes of green frogs, French national colors of blue, white and red, in various combinations, and a leaning red Eiffel Tower against a white background appearing as a rocket ready to take off.
